Docs: How to Register Users（for Administrators）

This section covers the overall administrator operations necessary to operate TailorNode, including creating user groups, registering and deleting administrators/users, and setting available regions.
Administrators are responsible for preparing the user environment and appropriately managing various settings during operation.

1. Basic Administrator Operations

TailorNode allows you to set 2 types of privileges:「Administrator」 and 「User」.
When introducing the service, at least one administrator must be initially registered. Operations performed by the initially registered administrator enable the registration of other administrators and users, as well as various settings.

The basic operations performed by an administrator are as follows:

Creation, editing, and deletion of user groups.
Registration, editing, and deletion of administrators and users.
Setting available regions for each user group.

Through these basic operations, administrators prepare the user environment and appropriately manage TailorNode’s operations.

2. Creating User Groups

User groups are used to collectively manage administrators and users by project or organizational unit, and to differentiate the units for available servers and points.
In TailorNode, you must first create user groups to associate users and administrators before registering them.

Open the 【Users and Groups】 screen from the 〈Setting〉 menu on the left.

Select the 《Groups》 tab displayed at the top.

TIPS!
When first using TailorNode, a user group named 「default」 is automatically created. You can edit and use it as needed.

Click the ［+Add User Group］ button in the upper right corner of the screen.
Fill in the required information and click the ［Add］ button to complete the creation.

The items to be set on the 【Add a New User Group】 screen are as follows:

Item Name	Description
Group Name	The name of the user group.
Note	Remarks field. You can fill in this field freely.

TIPS!

When you create a user group, a wallet for the group is automatically created.

For information on how to transfer points, please refer to How to Manage Points（for Administrators）.

Created user groups are displayed in a list under the 《Groups》 tab, and their contents can be modified by clicking the ［Edit］ button on each row.

3. Registering Administrators and Users

Accounts that can log in to TailorNode are registered as either an administrator or a user.
To register an account, a user group must be created in advance.

Open the 【Users and Groups】 screen from the 〈Setting〉 menu on the left.

Select the 《Users》 tab displayed at the top.
Click the ［+Add User］ button in the upper right corner of the screen to display the 【Add a New User】 screen.
Fill in the required information for each item and click the ［Add］ button to complete the creation.

The summary of each item is as follows:

Item Name	Description
Account Name	Display name. You can fill in this field freely.
Profile Image	Profile image. You can delete registered images by clicking the ［Remove］ button.
Alias	OS user name （user ID）. TailorNode associates processes based on the Alias. ※ As of January 2025, this field is no longer used, so please enter any string.
Email Address	Email address. This is also used as the TailorNode login ID, and registration information will be notified via email.
Password / Password（onfirmation）	Login password. Must be at least 8 characters long and include uppercase and lowercase alphabets, and numbers The set password will be notified via email.
Authority	Account privileges. ・Administrator: Can manage users and operate servers ・User: Can operate servers for the server group to which the user group belongs
Time Zone	Time zone to use.
User Group Name	The user groups to which the user belongs. Multiple groups can be selected, and at least one group is required.

TIPS!
Once users（administrators and users） have been created, they are displayed in a list under the 《Users》 tab, and their contents can be edited by clicking the ［Edit］ button on each row.

4. Deleting User Groups, Administrators, and Users

This section explains the procedure for deleting user groups, as well as administrators and users.

4.1. Deleting a User Group

This section explains the procedure for deleting a user group.
To delete a user group, all of the following conditions must be met:

There must be no administrators or users belonging to the user group.
There must be no servers in Running or Scheduled to Run status in the user group.
The user group must not have any remaining points.

If the above conditions are not met, please change the affiliation of users or administrators, or transfer the points.

Open the 【Users and Groups】 screen from the 〈Setting〉 menu on the left.

Select the 《Groups》 tab displayed at the top.
Click the ［Delete］ button on the row of the user group you wish to delete from the list.
The 【Final Confirmation】 dialog will be displayed. Confirm the contents, and if there are no issues, click the ［Delete］ button.

TIPS!

A user group, once deleted, cannot be restored.

The 【Final Confirmation】 dialog explicitly displays the name of the user group to be deleted. Please confirm before deleting.

After deletion, the wallet and point history associated with that group will no longer be viewable.

Even after a user group is deleted, administrators can view past point history on the 【Point Wallets】 screen and past server usage history on the 【Calendar】 screen by enabling 「Display deleted information」 in the settings on each screen.

4.2. Deleting Administrators and Users

This section explains the procedure for deleting administrators and users.
To delete an administrator or user, all of the following conditions must be met:

The user must not be involved with any servers that are currently Running or Scheduled to Run.
At least one administrator account must remain.

If the conditions are not met, please terminate the target server or change the user’s affiliation.

Open the 【Users and Groups】 screen from the 〈Setting〉 menu on the left.

Select the 《Users》 tab displayed at the top.
Click the ［Delete］ button on the row of the user you wish to delete from the list.
The 【Final Confirmation】 dialog will be displayed. Confirm the contents, and if there are no issues, click the ［Delete］ button.

TIPS!

A deleted account cannot be restored.

The 【Final Confirmation】 dialog explicitly displays the account information to be deleted.
Please confirm before deleting.

Even after a user is deleted, administrators can view past history related to the deleted user on the 【Point Wallets】 screen and 【Calendar】 screen by enabling 「Display deleted information」 in the settings on each screen.

5. Setting Regions for User Groups

This section explains the procedure for setting regions that user groups can use.

5.1. Displaying Regions Used by User Groups

This section explains the procedure for checking available regions for each user group.

Open the 【Region Control】 screen from the 〈Setting〉 menu on the left.

You can filter user groups or regions by entering keywords in the 「Search User Group Name」 field in the upper left corner of the screen.

By default, 「User Group」 is selected, and user groups containing the entered string will be displayed.
If 「Region」 is selected, regions containing the entered string will be displayed.
Changing the target with the radio buttons will reset the search results.

Clicking on a displayed user group name will show a list of regions available for that group.
If a checkbox next to each region is checked, that region is available for use by the user group.

TIPS!

The displayed regions are those where the selected user group can use Compute Servers and Login Servers.

On the 【Cloud Servers】 screen, you can check server information and resource status allocated to each region.

5.2. Registering Regions for User Groups

This section explains the procedure for setting available regions for each user group.

Open the 【Region Control】 screen from the 〈Setting〉 menu on the left.

Click on the target user group from the list.
Check the checkbox for the region you want to associate with the target user group.

After confirming the contents, click the ［Save］ button to apply the settings. Servers in that region will then become available for use by the relevant user group.

TIPS!

By enabling a region for a user group, users belonging to that group will be able to use Compute Servers and Login Servers in that region.

If the checkbox is unchecked, the use of the corresponding region will be disabled.

Docs: How to Manage Points（for Administrators）

Administrators can transfer points between administrator wallets and user group wallets.
This section explains how to check wallets and the procedures for transferring points.

1. Checking Wallets

This section explains how to check the status of wallets held by administrators and wallets allocated to each user group.
In TailorNode, multiple wallets exist for managing points. Each administrator has one administrator wallet, and one group wallet is automatically created for each user group. These wallets function as respective point holders.

The administrator wallet is automatically created when TailorNode service starts.
Group wallets are automatically created when a new user group is created.

Open the 【Point Wallets】 screen from the 〈Setting〉 menu on the left.
From the displayed wallet list, you can check the status（e.g., point balance）of the administrator wallet and each group wallet.
「Total:」 showing the total points across all wallets is displayed at the top of the screen.

Example: In the screen below, the administrator wallet（Admin）has 10,000 points, and the group wallets（default, GroupA）all have 0 points. 「Total:」 at the top of the screen shows 10,000.

Item	Description
Wallet Owner	The owner of the wallet. Either Administrator Wallet（Admin）or each user group will be displayed.
Currently Available Points	The current number of points held in the wallet. Cannot be negative.
Details	The［Detail］ button. Displays wallet details.

Clicking the ［Detail］ button for a wallet displays the 【Wallet Detail】 screen, where you can check detailed information such as the point transfer history for that wallet.
The 【Wallet Detail】 screen displays the following information:
- At the top of the screen, three items are displayed: Wallet Detail:（Wallet Name）, Balance:（Point Balance）, and ［Point Transfer］ button.
- At the bottom of the screen, a history list of past point transfers is displayed.

The history list displays the following items.

Item	Description
Date	Point transfer processing. The date and time of payment or receipt are displayed.
From	Point source.
To	Point recipient.
Transaction Type	Type of transfer. ・Point Purchase: Point purchase ・Withdrawal: Collection（e.g., by cancellation）・Refund: Refund（e.g., by cancellation）・Distribution: Point transfer from administrator wallet to user group wallet ・Reserved: Points consumed by reservation ・Consumed: Points consumed by startup ・Collect back: Point transfer from user group wallet to administrator wallet ・Point Expired: Expiration due to point expiry
Points Transferred	Number of points transferred.
Available Points after Transaction	Point balance in the wallet after the transfer process.
Notes	Remarks field.
User	Executor of the transfer process. For Point Purchase, Our company is displayed; otherwise, the name of the administrator who performed the operation is displayed.

TIPS!

When you reserve a login server or compute server, it will be displayed in the history as 「Reserved」.

When the usage start time is reached, the server will start, and 「Reserved」 will be updated to 「Consumed」.

2. Transferring Points Between Wallets

This section explains the procedure for transferring points between wallets.

NOTICE!
Initial points are assigned to the administrator wallet.
To reserve and use the login and compute servers, points must be transferred from the administrator wallet prior to use, as points are required in the target user group wallet.

2.1 Point Transfer Procedure

Administrators can transfer points from the administrator wallet to any user group wallet.

From the list on the 【Point Wallets】 screen, click the ［Detail］ button for 「Admin Wallet」.
On the 【Wallet Detail】 screen, click the ［Point Transfer］ button in the upper right corner.
The 【Point Transfer】 pop-up screen will appear, so fill in the required information.

The 【Point Transfer】 pop-up screen displays the following input fields:

Item	Description
Point Transfer	Enter in the format 「Point Source → Destination」.
Points to be Transferred	Enter the number of points to be transferred（negative values not allowed）.
Notes	Enter remarks. The entered content will be displayed in the history.
Precalculated Points	Displays the balance after transfer（source/destination）in advance. Displayed according to the entered 「Points to be Transferred」 content.

TIPS!
Example: When transferring 5000 points from the 「Admin Wallet」（administrator wallet）to the 「default wallet」

Point Transfer Admin → default

Points to be Transferred 5000

Notes Grant points for server use

Precalculated Points Admin Points : 10,000-5,000 = 5,000
default Points : 0+5,000 = 5,000


Point Transfer	Admin → default
Points to be Transferred	5000
Notes	Grant points for server use
Precalculated Points	Admin Points : 10,000-5,000 = 5,000 default Points : 0+5,000 = 5,000

Confirm the entered content and click the［Transfer］ button.
The 【Final Confirmation: Point Transfer】 pop-up screen will appear.
Confirm the precautions, and if there are no issues, click the ［Confirm］ button to execute the transfer process.

2.2 Confirmation of Transfer Results

When the transfer process is completed, the screen will return to the original 【Wallet Detail】 screen.

In the example given in the TIPS above:

A new transaction related to this point transfer will be added to the history list and displayed as 「Distribution （Administrator → User Group）」.
On the administrator wallet side, 「Points Transferred」 will show -5000, and on the user group wallet side, it will show 5000.

Also, from the 【Point Wallets】 screen, you can confirm that the point balances of each Admin and default wallet have changed（e.g., Admin 5,000 / default 5,000）.

TIPS!

Docs: Point Expiration（for Administrators）

This section explains the procedures for checking points with approaching expiration dates.
Administrators can check point expiration dates and grasp potential point forfeiture due to expiration in advance.

1. About Point Expiration

Points used in TailorNode have an expiration date.
Points that have passed their expiration date are automatically forfeited（invalidated）and can no longer be used.

The expiration date for points is calculated from the date of point issuance, and is generally 180 days.
Forfeited points are recorded as 「Point Expired」 in the history on the 【Wallet Detail】 screen.
※ Some points, such as those from campaigns, may have different expiration dates.

TIPS!

Point expiration dates are managed based on JST dates, and forfeiture processing occurs at 9:00 AM （JST） on the day following the expiration date.
Even though points may still be displayed on the screen between 0:00 AM and 9:00 AM after the expiration date, they cannot be used （they are subject to forfeiture by the system）.

Ex.）
Points expiring on 2025/06/30 will be forfeited at 9:00 AM （JST） on 2025/07/01. They will be displayed on the screen between 0:00 AM and 8:59 AM on 2025/07/01, but will be unusable.

2. How to Check Points Nearing Expiration for Each Wallet

This section explains the procedure for checking points with approaching expiration dates within a wallet.

Open the 【Point Wallets】 screen from the 〈Setting〉 menu on the left.
If there are points with an approaching expiration date in a wallet, the number of notifications will be displayed in [Notification].

Clicking [Notification] will display the 【Expiration date approaching】 screen, where you can check the details.

The 【Expiration date approaching】 screen displays the following information:

Item Name	Description
Expiration Date	The expiration date of the points.
Wallets Owner	The name of the user group that holds the points with approaching expiration.
Expiring Points	The points that will be forfeited.

TIPS!

It is possible to check points that will be forfeited within 30 days from the current date.

3. How to Check Expiration by User Group

This section explains the procedure for checking soon-to-expire points for a specific user group wallet.

Open the 【Point Wallets】 screen from the 〈Setting〉 menu on the left.
Click the [Detail] button for the target wallet to display the 【Wallet Detail】 screen.

If [Notification] is displayed on the 【Wallet Detail】 screen, clicking it will allow you to check the details of points with an approaching expiration date within that wallet.

The 【Expiration date approaching】 screen displays the following information:

Item Name	Description
Expiration Date	The expiration date of the points.
Wallets Owner	The name of the user group that holds the points with approaching expiration.
Expiring Points	The points that will be forfeited.

TIPS!

It is possible to check points that will be forfeited within 30 days from the current date.

Docs: How to Check Point Balance（for Users）

This section explains how users can check their own point balance.

1. How to Check Point Balance for Users

This section explains how users can check the point balance for the user group they belong to.

1.1. Checking During Compute Server Reservation

Users can check the point balance of their user group wallet during the compute server reservation process.

Open the 【Cloud Servers】 screen from the 〈Cloud Servers〉 menu on the left.

Click the [+Add Calc Server] button in the upper right of the 【Cloud Servers】 screen to open the 【Select Server Type】 screen.
On the 【Select Server Type】 screen, a list of available regions and server specifications will be displayed.

Click on the row in the 「Region」 column that displays a region available for the user group whose point balance you want to check, and the 【Settings】 screen will appear.
In the 「Point Wallet」 column, select the user group whose point balance you want to check.

You can check the current point balance of the selected user group in 「Currently Available Points」 within the 「Pre-Calculated Points」 section at the bottom of the screen.

TIPS!

Regions available for the user group whose point balance you want to check can be confirmed on the 【Region Control】 screen （administrators only）.

If the same region is displayed on multiple rows, selecting any row will not affect the point balance confirmation.

Users can check the point balance of their user group wallet during the login server startup process.

Open the 【Login Servers】 screen from the 〈Login Servers〉 menu on the left.

Click the［+Add Login Server］button in the upper right of the 【Login Servers】 screen to open the 【Create Login Server】 screen.
On the 【Create Login Server】 screen, pre-configured regions and information about the user group the user belongs to will be displayed.

In the 「Region」 column, select a region available for the user group whose point balance you want to check.
In the 「Point Wallet」 column, select the user group whose point balance you want to check.

You can check the current point balance of the selected user group in 「Currently Available Points」 within the 「Pre-Calculated Points」 section at the bottom of the screen.

Docs: Point Refunds

Points consumed may be refunded due to server reservation cancellation or early termination.
This section explains the conditions under which points are refunded and how to check refund details.

1. About point refunds

In TailorNode, consumed points are refunded under the following conditions:

When a compute server reservation is canceled
When a login server or compute server in use is terminated early

The number of points refunded is calculated by applying the refund rate specified in the Terms of Use to the points consumed at the time of reservation.

The refund rate varies depending on the following factors:

The specifications of each server (GPU model)
The timing of the reservation cancellation or early termination

For specific refund rates, please refer to Appendix 1 of the Terms of Use.

TIPS!
Please note the following regarding point refunds:

The expiration date of the refunded points will be the same as the expiration date of the points consumed at the time of reservation.

If the refunded points include decimals, rounding up will be applied.
Example: If 30.2 points result from the application of the refund rate, 31 points will be refunded.

2. Point Refund Example

Example

Compute server reserved 10 days in advance
Plan: 30 points per hour
Reserved time: 5 hours
Points consumed: 150 points
Cancellation occurred before the scheduled start time

In this case, a portion or all of the points will be refunded. The number of points refunded varies depending on the date and time the cancellation is executed.

Actual refund rates vary depending on the compute server’s specifications. Please refer to Appendix 1 of the Terms of Use for detailed refund rates.

Docs: How to Register Key Pairs

Before reserving each server, you must register the key pair to be used by the user group.
This section explains the procedure for registering, deleting, and confirming key pairs.

1. Confirming Key Pairs

This section explains how to confirm registered key pairs.

Open the 【Key Pairs】 screen from the 〈Setting〉 menu on the left.

The following information can be confirmed on the 【Key Pairs】 screen：

Item	Description
Name	Key Pair Name.
User Group	The name of the user group that owns the key pair.
Used Server	The name of the login server and compute server using it.
Create Date	Registration Date and Time.

Additionally, by using the 〈Columns〉 menu and 〈Filters〉 menu in the upper left of the list, you can switch display items and filter data.

2. Registering Key Pairs

To use login servers and compute servers, key pairs must be registered in advance.
Key pairs can be registered in the following two ways.

Creating New Key Pairs
Importing Public Keys

2.1. Creating New Key Pairs

First, this section explains the procedure for creating a new key pair.

Click the ［+Add］ button in the upper right corner of the 【Key Pairs】 screen.

The 【Add Key Pair】 modal screen will be displayed.

Select 「Create New」 with the radio button at the top, and fill in the required information in 「Key Pair Name」 and 「Select Group Name」.

The input items on the 【Add Key Pair】 modal screen are as follows：

Item	Description
Create New	Create a new key pair.
Import	Import a key pair. Imports a public key created in advance.
Key Pair Name	Key Pair Name.
Select Group Name	The name of the user group to which the key pair is registered.
Public Key	Public key. Displayed only when 「Import」 is selected. Accepted formats are RSA or ed25519.

After inputting, review the contents, and click the [Add] button to create the new key pair.
The 【Final Confirmation: Create Key Pair】 screen will be displayed.
After reviewing the notes, click the［Create］button to execute the key pair creation.

If creation is successful, the private key file will be automatically downloaded.

TIPS!
The creation process may take a few seconds.

Confirm that the newly registered key pair is displayed in the list on the 【Key Pairs】 screen.

2.2. Importing Public Keys

Next, this section explains the procedure for importing a pre-created public key.

Click the ［+Add］ button on the 【Key Pairs】 screen, following the same procedure as in 2.1. Creating New Key Pairs.
Select 「Import」 with the radio button at the top, and fill in the required information in 「Key Pair Name」, 「Select Group Name」, and 「Public Key」.

TIPS!
For descriptions of each input field, please refer to 2.1. Creating New Key Pairs.

Review the contents, and click the［Add］button to import the public key.
The 【Final Confirmation: Import Key Pair】 screen will be displayed.
After reviewing the notes, click the ［Import］ button to execute the public key import.

Confirm that the newly registered key pair is displayed in the list on the 【Key Pairs】 screen.

3. Deleting Key Pairs

This section explains the procedure for deleting registered key pairs.

Open the 【Key Pairs】 screen from the menu on the left.
Check the checkbox next to the key pair you want to delete.

Click the ［-Delete］ button in the upper right corner of the screen.
The 【Final Confirmation: Delete keys】 screen will be displayed.
After reviewing the notes, click the ［Delete］ button to execute the deletion.

Confirm that the key pair has been deleted from the list on the 【Key Pairs】 screen.

TIPS!
The deletion process may take a few seconds.

Docs: How to use Compute Server

This section describes the operation procedures for compute servers by users.
Operations include reserving, using, and terminating compute servers, as well as changing reservation periods, extending usage time, and checking usage status.
Note that these operations can also be performed by administrators.

1. Operation Target

Users and administrators can perform operations such as reserving compute servers for servers that can be used by the user group to which they belong.

2. Using Compute Server

TailorNode allows compute servers to be used within a pre-defined region.
This section describes the steps involved in reserving, using, and terminating compute servers.

2.1. Confirming Compute Server Availability

Before reserving a compute server, confirm in advance if the specifications of the desired compute server are available for the desired period.

To check availability, open the 【Availability Calendar】 screen from the left menu.

From the left menu of the 【Availability Calendar】, select 「User Group」 and click the ［Filter by Server Type］ button to display a list of compute server specifications.

Item	Description
Plan	Plan name. Displays the name and number of GPUs installed on the compute server.
Region	Name of reservable Region.
CPU Num	Number of CPUs.
Memory	Memory capacity.
Storage	Storage capacity. You can select the desired capacity from the pull-down menu.
Points/hour	Unit price of the compute server. Displayed in points per hour.

In 【Filter by Server Type】（Compute Server Specifications List）, select your desired Plan and click the ［Select］ button.

The availability of the selected Plan is displayed as blocks on the 【Availability Calendar】 screen.
The period during which blocks are displayed indicates that the Plan can be reserved.
If you want to check the availability of another Plan, click the ［Filter by Server Type］ button again and select the Plan you wish to check.

TIPS!
Availability can be checked until the end of the month two months from the current date and time.
Ex.）
For 2024/12/20 10:00, the display period is 2024/12/20 10:00 to 2025/2/28 23:59.

TIPS!

The following operations are possible on the 【Availability Calendar】 screen:

You can switch the displayed month using the ［＜］ and ［＞］ buttons at the top of the screen.

You can also directly select a specific month using the calendar in the upper left.

Under 「Server Availability」 in the lower left, you can narrow down availability by usage period.

Item Description

day Enter the period of use in days.

over Display servers that are available for more than the number of days entered.

less than Display servers that are available only for less than the number of days entered.

Item	Description
day	Enter the period of use in days.
over	Display servers that are available for more than the number of days entered.
less than	Display servers that are available only for less than the number of days entered.

Clicking an availability block displayed on the calendar will show detailed information for the corresponding period and selected Plan.

Clicking a date on the calendar switches the display from month view to week view.
In week view, periods that are already reserved are displayed as gray blocks.
You can return to month view by clicking the ［MONTH］ button at the top of the week view calendar.

The above completes the procedure for checking availability before reserving a compute server.

2.2. Reserving a Compute Server

The reservation of a compute server consists of Steps 1 to 3.
This section describes the content and operation method of each step in order.

2.2.1. Reserving a Compute Server （Step 1）

Open the 【Cloud Servers】 screen from the left menu.

TIPS!
If the ［+Add Calc Server］ button is not displayed, select the 《Calc Server》 tab at the top of the screen.

Clicking the ［+Add Calc Server］ button in the upper right corner of the screen displays the 【Select Server Type】 screen.
On the 【Select Server Type】 screen, a list of pre-configured regions and compute server specifications is displayed, so select the specifications of the compute server you wish to launch （only available regions are displayed）.

The specifications to be displayed can be selected from the 「Instance Type」 and 「Region」 pull-down menus in the upper left of the screen.
Additionally, by using the 〈Columns〉 menu and 〈Filters〉 menu in the upper left of the list, you can switch display items and filter data.

TIPS!
Regions available for a user group can be confirmed on the 【Region Control】 screen （administrator only）.
For more information, see Setting Regions for User Groups for details.

The specifications of each compute server are as follows:

Item	Description
Plan	Compute server plan name.

2.2.2. Reserving a Compute Server （Step 2）

After selecting specifications on the 【Select Server Type】 screen, the 【Settings】 screen （Step 2） will be displayed.
Enter the required information in each field to configure detailed settings.

The following settings are configured on the 【Settings】 screen:

Region	Region name. The content selected in Step 1 is displayed.
Point Wallet	User group name from which points are consumed.
Calc Server Name	Compute Server Name. Enter optionally.
Storage	Storage capacity. Select from the pull-down menu.

Memory	Memory capacity. The content selected in Step 1 is displayed.
OS	OS selectio. Can be selected from the pull-down menu.
Additional Software	Additional software selection. You can select software to be installed at startup from the pull-down menu, only if a compatible OS is selected.
Start Time	Scheduled start time. The compute server will start at this time.
End Time	Scheduled end time. The compute server will stop at this time.
Usage Time	Usage time. Enter the desired usage time.
Key Pair	Selection of associated key pair. Must be created in advance.
Notes	Optional notes field. Can be filled in freely.

TIPS!

Only user groups available in the selected 「Region」 are displayed in 「Point Wallet」.

You can check the usable regions for each user group on the 【Region Control】 screen （administrator only）.
For details, please refer to Setting Regions for User Groups.

Selecting 「Point Wallet」 enables the selection of 「Key Pair」.

Changing 「Point Wallet」 resets 「Key Pair」.

TIPS!

When using NVIDIA Driver or CUDA, you can select the “Additional Software” option on the compute server reservation screen. This will install the software during server startup, allowing you to use it immediately upon connection. We encourage you to take advantage of this feature.
(The availability and types of additional software may vary depending on the region, plan, and OS.)

TIPS!

Either 「End Time」 or 「Usage Time」 must be entered.
Entering one will automatically fill in the other.

TIPS!

Points that expire between the configured 「Start Time」 and 「End Time」 cannot be used.
Ex.）
If you only hold 5000 points that expire on 2025/03/10:
Reservations for the period 2025/03/05 to 2025/03/15 are not possible.
To make a reservation for this period, points valid after 2025/03/15 are required.

The key pair to be used for 「Key Pair」 must be created in advance on the 【Key Pairs】 screen. （For details, please refer to How to Register Key Pairs.）

Depending on the configured content, the following information will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.
Confirm the content and click the ［Confirm］ button at the bottom of the screen to proceed to Reservation Confirmation （Step 3）.
「Pre-Calculated Points」 are calculated each time based on the entered content.

If the reservation cannot be made due to unmet conditions, return to Reservation Confirmation （2.1. Confirming Compute Server Availability） and perform the reservation operation again.

2.2.3. Reserving a Compute Server （Step 3）

After completing the detailed settings on the 【Settings】 screen （Step 2） and clicking the ［Confirm］ button, you will proceed to the 【Confirmation】 screen （Step 3）.
On this screen, you will make the final confirmation of your reservation details.

Confirm the content, agree to the Terms of Use, and then click the ［Reserve］ button.

TIPS!
If you agree to the Terms of Use and fill in the check mark, the ［Reserve］ button will be enabled.

The 【Final Confirmation: Server Reservation】 screen will be displayed.
After confirming the notes, click the ［Reserve］ button again to execute the compute server reservation.

2.2.4. Confirmation After Reservation

After reserving a compute server, you can check the reservation status in the 〈Usage Calendar〉（on the 【Usage Calendar】 screen） from the left menu.
This screen displays a weekly calendar, and the periods for which a compute server is reserved are shown as blocks （reservation blocks are displayed in any color）.
You can change the displayed week by selecting a date from the monthly calendar in the upper left of the screen. Additionally, you can narrow down the displayed servers using the 「Region」 field and 「Server Status」 field.

Clicking a reservation block on the calendar allows you to check details of the reservation, such as the scheduled start time, scheduled end time, and status.

This concludes the reservation and confirmation of a compute server.
Thereafter, when the configured 「Start Time」 is reached, the reserved compute server launch process will be executed, and you can use the compute server until the 「End Time」 is reached.

NOTICE!
It usually takes 5 to 15 minutes to start up the compute server.

NOTICE!
When 「End Time」 is reached, the calculation server configuration environment and all stored data will be deleted.
Be sure to confirm in advance whether or not a backup is required.

2.3. Changing a Reserved Compute Server

This section describes the procedure for changing the scheduled start time and scheduled end time after reserving a compute server.
Changes are limited to servers with a 「Reserved」 status and where the scheduled start time is not yet within 1 hour.

Open the 【Cloud Servers】 screen from the left menu.
The screen displays a list of reserved and running compute servers.

TIPS!
If the list of calculation servers is not displayed, select the 《Calc Server》 tab at the top of the 【Cloud Servers】 screen.

TIPS!

Changes to a server’s reserved time period can only be performed by users who are members of the user group that made the reservation （the same user group wallet）.
For example, if a user belongs to user groups A and B, and the server is reserved in group A（wallet A）, any modification operations must also be performed in group A.

Selecting the target server from the list will display its details.

Clicking the ［Change Reservation］ button displays the 【Change Reservation】 pop-up screen.

The screen displays the following information, including the server configuration at the time of reservation, the times to be changed, and the point estimate associated with the change.

Confirm the content and, if you wish to execute the reservation change, click the ［Change Reservation］ button.

The 【Final Confirmation: Change Reservation】 screen will be displayed.
After confirming the notes, click the ［Change Reservation］ button again to execute the reservation change.

TIPS!

If the wallet balance is insufficient, the change cannot be executed.

Changes may not be possible depending on the reservation status before and after the reservation period.

2.4. Canceling a Reserved Compute Server

Cancellation of a compute server reservation can be performed for servers with a 「Reserved」 Status and where the scheduled start time （Start Time） is not yet within 10 minutes.

Open the 【Cloud Servers】 screen from the left menu.
This screen displays a list of compute servers reserved or launched by the user.

TIPS!

If the list of compute servers is not displayed, select the 《Calc Server》 tab at the top of the 【Cloud Servers】 screen.

Selecting the target compute server from the list will display its details screen.

Confirm the content and, if you wish to execute the reservation cancellation, click the ［Cancel Reservation］ button.
The 【Final Confirmation: Cancel Reservation】 screen will be displayed.
After confirming the notes, click the ［Cancel Reservation］ button again to cancel the reservation.

TIPS!

Similar to changing the reservation period, cancellation of a reservation can only be performed from the same user group （same user group wallet） as when the reservation was made.
For example, if a user belongs to user groups A and B, and reserved a server with group A （wallet A）, the cancellation operation must also be performed with group A.

TIPS!

When a reservation cancellation is executed, points that were scheduled to be consumed will be returned.
For point return, please click Point Refunds.

2.5. Use of Compute Server

This section describes the procedure for using a compute server.
To use a compute server, the following preparations must be completed.

Compute server reservation （see 2.2. Reserving a Compute Server）
Server launch completed according to the reserved start time
Client PC preparation （SSH connection source）

2.5.1. Confirming Connection Information to the Compute Server

First, confirm the information required to connect to the compute server.

Open the [Cloud Servers] screen from the left menu. （For details about the [Cloud Servers] screen, see 3.2. Checking the Usage Status for Compute Server.）

If the list of calculation servers is not displayed, select the 《Calc Server》 tab at the top of the 【Cloud Servers】 screen.

The server to be used must have a 「Running」 Status.

Selecting the target compute server from the list displays the details screen.
On the details screen, check the following connection information.

Connect from the client PC to the compute server using the 「Key Pair」, 「Port」, and 「End Point」 confirmed in 2.5.1. Confirming Connection Information to the Compute Server.
Here, the following information is used as an example.
Ex.）

Key Pair file: sample.key
Port: 12345
End Point: sample@morgenrot.cloud

Based on the above information, you can connect to the compute server by executing the ssh command as follows:
（Please change the key file reference path as appropriate for your client PC environment.）

ssh -i . /sample.key sample@morgenrot.cloud -p 12345

If the SSH connection is established without any problems, the connection to the compute server is confirmed.
Thereafter, the compute server can be used until the termination operation is performed.

NOTICE!
On the compute server, the reboot command （sudo reboot） can be executed.
However, if the shutdown command （sudo shutdown） is executed, it will not be possible to reboot from the user side.
Please avoid using the shutdown command.

If an error occurs during the SSH connection, there may be a problem with the key file’s browse permissions.
Check the permissions of the key file with the following command.

If the execution rights are restricted as follows, there is no problem:

If all users have permissions, change them to the appropriate permissions:

2.6. Extension of Compute Server Usage Time

This section describes the procedure for extending the usage time of a compute server.
Extension operations can only be performed on compute servers whose Status is 「Running」 and whose scheduled end time （End Time） has not yet been reached.

Open the 【Cloud Servers】 screen from the left menu.
This screen displays a list of all servers, including currently running compute servers, as well as reserved and terminated ones.

TIPS!
If the list of calculation servers is not displayed, select the 《Calc Server》 tab at the top of the 【Cloud Servers】 screen.

TIPS!

Extension of server usage time can only be performed from the same user group （same user group wallet） as when the usage started.
For example, if a user belongs to user groups A and B, and launched a compute server with group A （wallet A）, the extension operation must also be performed with group A （wallet A）.

Select the compute server you wish to extend from the list to display the details screen, then click the ［Extend］ button at the bottom of the screen.

Clicking the ［Extend］ button displays the 【Server Time Extension】 pop-up screen.

The 【Server Time Extension】 pop-up screen displays the following information:

By entering the 「New End Time」, the extended time, required points, and point balance will be automatically calculated and displayed.

The 【Final Confirmation: Extension of Server Using Time】 screen will be displayed.
After confirming the notes, click the ［Extend］ button again to execute the usage time extension.

TIPS!

If the point balance of the user group in question is less than the required number of points when extending the server, the extension will not be possible.

Extensions may not be possible depending on the reservation status before and after the reserved compute server.

2.7. Termination of Compute Server

This section describes the procedure for terminating the use of a compute server.
Termination operations can only be performed on compute servers whose Status is 「Running」.
Also, the operation can only be performed from the same user group （same user group wallet） that started using it.

To terminate the use of a compute server, open the 【Cloud Servers】 screen from the left menu.

TIPS!
If the list of calculation servers is not displayed, select the 《Calc Server》 tab at the top of the 【Cloud Servers】 screen.

Selecting the compute server you wish to terminate from the list displays the details screen.
Confirm the content and, if you wish to terminate the server’s use, click the ［Terminate］ button.
The 【Final Confirmation: Server Termination】 screen will be displayed.
After confirming the notes, click the ［Terminate］ button again to execute the server termination.

TIPS! When the termination operation is performed, a portion of the points used will be returned based on the return rate according to the compute server’s specifications.
For details, please refer to Point Refunds.

NOTICE!
When the [Terminate] button is clicked, the configuration environment and all stored data for the relevant calculation server will be deleted.
Be sure to confirm in advance whether or not a backup is required.

3. Check Usage Status

In TailorNode, you can check the usage history and fees for compute servers, including past usage.
This section explains the fee structure related to compute servers and how to check usage history.

3.1. Fee Structure for This Service

First, the fee structure of this service is explained.
The basic fee structure for compute servers is as follows.

Point Consumption for Compute Server Usage
- The number of points required to use a compute server is calculated based on the defined unit price and usage time.
- The unit price is set per hour and can be checked on the compute server reservation screen, usage history screen, etc.
- Usage time is calculated based on the time from the 「scheduled start time specified at reservation」 to the 「scheduled end time specified at reservation」.
- The number of points consumed can be confirmed during the reservation process.
- Usage time is counted as 1 hour for every 3600 seconds, with fractions rounded up. （Example: 1 to 3600 seconds is counted as 1 hour, and 3601 to 7200 seconds is counted as 2 hours.）
- When the scheduled start time is reached, the launch process for the compute server begins, and it becomes usable approximately 5-15 minutes later.
- It may take approximately another 2 minutes for the status to switch to 「Running」 on TailorNode after it becomes usable.

3.2. Checking the Usage Status for Compute Server

In TailorNode, you can check the usage status （history） of each compute server.
This information can be viewed on the 【Cloud Servers】 screen.

4. Confirmation of Notices

4.1. Notification by Notification Screen

In TailorNode, you can check notifications such as system updates, fault information, and maintenance as 「Announcements」 from the bell icon in the upper right corner of the screen.

If there is a notification, a 「！」 mark will appear on the bell icon. Clicking it will open a list of announcements.

The announcement list displays the notification date/time and title. To confirm the content, click the corresponding title.

Clicking the notification title displays the detailed content.

TIPS!
Notifications will include information about system maintenance and updates, information about outages and recovery, and information about the server. Please check the contents of the notifications as they are related to your use of the system.

4.2. Notification by e-mail

In TailorNode, email notifications are sent at specific timings.

This section describes the operation of the login server in general.
Eligible operations include start up, using, and terminate the server, as well as extending usage time and checking usage status.
Note that these operations can also be performed by the administrator.

TIPS!

A login server is NOT required for normal use, but it can be used optionally depending on your needs.

A login server is a designated server used for managing access to multiple compute servers (as a bastion host) and for other purposes, such as temporary storage.

Users and administrators can access compute servers directly. For more information on how to access compute servers, refer to Use of Compute Server.

1. Operation Target

Users and administrators can perform operations such as starting up a login server for servers that can be used by the user group to which they belong.

TailorNode allows login servers to be used within a pre-defined region.
This section describes the steps involved in start up, using, and terminate the login server.

Start up a login server consists of 2 steps.Below is an overview of each of these steps.

Open the 【Cloud Servers】 screen from the left menu.
Select the 《Login Server》 tab at the top of the screen, and click the 「+Add Login Server」 button in the upper right corner to display the 【Create Login Server】 screen.
The 【Create Login Server】 screen is used to configure detailed settings for the login server.
Fill in the required information and click the 「Confirm」 button to proceed to Step 2.

The following is a list of settings for the login server.

Region	The name of the region where the login server is located.
Point Wallet	The name of the user group from which points are consumed.
Login Server Name	Name of the login server.
Storage	Storage capacity. You can select the desired capacity from the pull-down menu.
CPU	Number of CPU. Automatically filled in when selecting a region.
Memory	Memory capacity. Automatically filled in when selecting a region.
OS	OS. Automatically filled in when selecting a region.
Additional Software	Additional software to be pre-installed when starting the login server. Automatically filled in when selecting a region.
Start Time	Start time. The current time is automatically filled in.
End Time	Expected end time. The server automatically terminates at this time.
Key Pair	Key pair associated with the login server. From the pull-down menu, you can select the desired key pair.
Notes	Notes. Can be filled in freely.

TIPS!

The 「Point Wallet」 displays only the user groups available in the selected 「Region」.

Supported regions can be checked on the 【Region Control】 screen （administrator only）.

When a user group is selected in 「Point Wallet」, 「Key Pair」 becomes available for selection.

When 「Point Wallet」 is changed, 「Key Pair」 is reset.

TIPS!

After confirming the contents and clicking ［Create］, the login server is up and running.

This section describes the procedure for using the login server.

If the SSH connection is established without any problems, the confirmation of the connection to the login server is complete.
Thereafter, the login server can be used until the termination operation is performed.

TIPS!
If an error occurs during the SSH connection, there may be a problem with the key file’s browse permissions.
Check the authority of the key file with the following command.
ll sample.key
If the permissions are as follows, you are good to go.
-rw-------@ 1 user user 399B 4 1 10:00 sample.key
On the other hand, if all users have authority, as shown below, change the authority to the appropriate one before executing the command.
-rwxrwxrwx@ 1 user user 399B 4 1 10:00 sample.key
Authority settings after modification：
chmod 600 sample.key

Next, we explain how to connect from the login server to the compute server.
Please confirm the following information when connecting.（For detailed instructions, see How to use Compute Server .）

「Alias」 of the compute server you want to connect
「Key Pair」 of the compute server you want to connect

The 「Key Pair」 file used for the connection must be placed on the login server in advance.
To copy the key file from the client PC to the login server, use the following command.（Please change the key storage/reference location as appropriate for your environment.）

Ex.）
「Key Pair」 of the compute server you want to connect to: sample.key
Login Server Port」: 12345
「End Point」 of the Login Server: sample@morgenrot.cloud

scp -i ./sample.key -P 12345 ./sample.key sample@morgenrot.cloud:~

After connecting to the login server, you can connect to the compute server by executing the following command

Ex.）
「Key Pair」 of the compute server you want to connect to: sample.key
「Alias」 of the compute server you want to connect: sample-alias

ssh -i ./sample.key ubuntu@sample-alias

This section describes the procedure for extending the usage time of the login server.

Extension of the usage time can be done by updating the（End Time）for login servers whose Status is 「Running」 and whose End Time has not yet been reached.

To extend the usage time of the login server, open the 【Cloud Servers】 screen from the left side menu.

TIPS!

If you do not see a list of login servers, select the 《Login Server》 tab at the top of the screen.

TIPS!

Extension of server usage time can only be performed from the same user group （ same user group wallet ） as when the usage started.
For example, if a user belongs to user groups A and B, and the server is started in group A （wallet A）, the extension operation must also be performed in group A （wallet A）.

Select the login server you wish to extend from the list and click the [Extend] button at the bottom of the detail screen.
On the 【Login Server Extension】 screen, enter the new scheduled end time in the 「New End Time」 field and click the [Extend] button to display the confirmation screen.
Check the contents and click the [Extend] button again if you wish to execute the extension.
When processing is completed, 「End Time」 is updated.

TIPS!

If the point balance of the relevant user group is less than the required number of points, the extension cannot be executed.

This is the end of the procedure for extending the usage time of the login server.

This section describes the procedure for terminating use of the login server.

Exit operations can only be performed on a login server whose Status is 「Running」.
Also, the operation can only be performed from the same user group （same user group wallet） that started using it.

To terminate use of the login server, open the 【Cloud Servers】 screen from the left menu.

TIPS!
If you do not see a list of login servers, select the 《Login Server》 tab at the top of the 【Cloud Servers】 screen.

Select the login server you wish to terminate from the list to display the details screen.
After clicking the ［Terminate］ button, a confirmation popup 【Final Confirmation: Server Termination】 will be displayed.
Click the ［Terminate］ button in the pop-up window to confirm the contents and execute the termination.

TIPS!

Upon completion of the exit operation, a portion of the points spent will be returned based on the return rate according to the specifications of the login server.

NOTICE!
Clicking the ［Terminate］ button will delete the configuration environment and all stored data for the login server in question.
Be sure to confirm in advance whether or not a backup is required.

3. Check Usage Status

TailorNode allows you to view your login server usage history and fees, including those for past years.

This section explains the fee structure regarding the login server and how to check your usage history.

3.1. Fee Structure for This Service

First, the fee structure of this service is explained.
The basic fee structure for this service is as follows

Point consumption for use of login server
- The number of points required to use the login server is calculated based on a defined unit price and time of use.
- The unit price is set per hour and can be checked on the reservation screen of the login server or on the usage history screen.
- The time used is calculated based on the time from the 「start-up start time」 to the 「specified estimated end time」.
- The number of points consumed can be checked during the reservation operation process.
- Each 3600 seconds is counted as one hour, with fractions rounded up to the nearest hour. （e.g., 1 to 3600 seconds is counted as 1 hour, and 3601 to 7200 seconds is counted as 2 hours.）

TailorNode allows you to check the usage （history） of each login server.

This information can be viewed on the 【Cloud Servers】 page.

Server Name	The name of the login server.
Status	Operational status. Cancelled／Running／Preparing／Finished／Error
User	The user who started up the login server.
Start Time	Start time.
End Time	Scheduled end time.
Region	Region name.
User Group	The name of the user group to which the user is authorized to use.

The running login servers are color-coded as follows according to the time remaining before the scheduled termination time, and a legend for each color is displayed in 「Remaining time until server termination」 in the upper right corner of the screen.

Red：Less than 6 hours remaining
Orange: Remaining time is more than 6 hours but less than 24 hours
Yellow: Remaining time is more than 24 hours but less than 72 hours

On the 【Cloud Servers】 screen, the 〈Columns〉menu and 〈Filters〉menu at the top left of the list can be used to switch display items and narrow down the data.

By following the above procedure, you can check the usage status of individual login servers.
